This book introduces students of elementary school level to Islam through theshahaadah (testimony of faith). They learn the appropriate etiquette of the Qur’an and engage in memorization and recitation ofsurahs from Surah An-Naba' through Surat Al-Inshiqaaq, together with basic explanations of thesesurahs . This book also introduces them to the life of Prophet Muhammad . Further, it teaches students aboutadhaan , obligatory times of prayer and the importance of performingsalaah with congregation. It also discusses proper care for the masjid and other public property. The grade concludes with lessons on the importance of developing good manners with one's neighbors and others. The authors have presented the materials using a spiral approach, where students revisit each area and study it in greater depth each year. TheStudent's Textbook contains the subject text of the lessons, exercises as well as activities.
