The Atlas of Water - أطلس الماء خريطة أهم موارد العالم

This text is 128 pages, including a map of the world's most important resources. It includes seven parts; the first of which deals with the volume of water, explaining that it is constant and never changes, and that the proportion of fresh water does not exceed only 2.5%. In addition to that, two-thirds of this percentage is not available for human use, and that the lack of water is not due to the decrease in the total amount of water resources, but rather the way in which those resources are distributed.

In the second part, the two authors discuss the water pressures crisis, which climate change is expected to affect in many and complex ways on rainfall, river flow and fresh water supply, and that the negative effects of it will outweigh any potential benefits. In the fifth part, the book deals with polluted water and what leads to its polluted-ness and the regulations that threaten it. In the sixth part, the authors deal with the Millennium Development Goals, treaties and commitments, deepening joint cooperation, water management, water footprint, and also the price of water.

يقع الكتاب فى 128 صفحة، متضمنًا خريطة لأهم موارد العالم.ويتضمن الكتاب سبعة أجزاء، يتناول فى الأول منها حجم الماء فى العالم من حيث أنه ثابت ولا يتغير أبدًا، كما أن نسبة حجم الماء العذب لا تتجاوز سوى 2.5% فقط، بالإضافة إلى أن ثلثى هذه النسبة غير متاحين للاستخدام الآدمى، وأن نقص الماء لا يرجع جوهر أزمته فى انخفاض إجمالى كمية الموارد المائية بل إلى الطريقة التى يتم توزيع تلك الموارد بها.فى الجزء الثانى، تناقش الكاتبان أزمة الضغوط المائية، والتى من المتوقع أن يؤثر التغير المناخى بطرق عديدة ومعقدة على تساقط الأمطار، وتدفق الأنهار وإمدادات الماء العذب، بل إن الآثار السلبية سوف تفوق أية فوائد محتملة، أما الجزء الثالث والرابع فيتناول الكتاب "المياه من أجل الحياة، ومن أجل الإنتاج الاقتصادى" من خلال تعدد صورهما المختلفة، وفى الجزء الخامس يتطرق الكتاب إلى المياه الفاسدة وما يؤدى إلى تلوثها والأنظمة التى تهددها.وفى الجزء السادس تناول الباحثون الأهداف الإنمائية للألفية والمعاهدات والالتزامات وتعميق التعاون المشترك، وإدارة المياه، والبصمة المائية، وأيضًا سعر المياه، لتقدم فى الباب السابع حقائق وأرقاما حول الاحتياجات والموارد مرفقًا بقاموس مصطلحات للمفردات المتغيرة فى هذا الصدد
