When you start the story with this it will catch their interest and make them eager to know what happens next, take the story to a whole new level and make it full of adventures, wonders, and magic.   Add up some Conflict that the characters have to find a solution for. For example, when the main character went to the other world she was faced with a whole new world that she knows nothing about and everything looks different from her own world and she doesn’t know how to get back home so she has to go through the adventure to find out where she is and how to get back to the real world. Make the main character struggles to find the way out, for example, make her lose hope in finding the way out to the real world. She feels like she did all she can do and is still trapped in this strange world and when she was about to give up something happens and change everything. Also, add fun details don’t make it all a sad story. Describe what the other world looks like for example the houses are made of candies, instead of water there are rivers of chocolate, and there are talking animals and trees, use your imagination. Then comes the time to resolve the conflict, and help the character to find her way back home. Perhaps through the magic portal or a talking animal that can do magic or knows how to get her home.

How to write a simple children's story?

The first step is to decide what will you write about, and what is the idea of the story that everything will be about. This step is called finding the theme of the story, for example, the theme may be about love, friendship, or family. Then think about how to make it interesting to the child. Now, think of the main character, how will it look like? will it be a talking animal or a human? Think of how will you deliver the idea of the story through the character. Make your own unique character that will capture the children's interest. Describe what the main character looks like, what the character wears, its favorite food, and anything related to the character, even its personality. For example, she has a kind heart, likes adventures, and gets herself/himself in trouble a lot. Then comes the plotting time, first introduce the settings, the main character, and the conflict. After introducing the main character and its name, write about its goals, and what stops her from achieving them. In one moment or one scene, everything will change and makes it harder for the character to reach its goal. Perhaps the other characters did something to the main character. Let’s say, for example, the main character wanted to be a famous singer, but suddenly the company she was working with ended her contract and told her that she can’t be a singer. The rising action of the story. Write about how the main character deal with the problem she is facing. Let’s say she decided to give up but suddenly she remembered something that will push her to continue and go after her dream. At the end of the story, all the problems must be solved, and the character achieves her dream.

How to start a story for kids?

For young kids let’s say from 2 to 7 years old the story must be simple and the sentences must be short and easy to read.
