Introduction to Part Six – Tajweed Series for Kids
Welcome to Part Six of the Tajweed Series for Kids! In this part, you will learn a very beautiful part of tajweed called madd. Madd means stretching the sound of a letter when reciting the Qur’an. This helps your recitation sound smooth and correct as revealed to the Prophet ﷺ.
This book also has two main units:
Unit One: The Original Madd
In this unit, you will learn about three special letters: alif, wāw, and yā’. These are called the madd letters. You will learn how to stretch the sound naturally when these letters appear in a word.
Unit Two: The Secondary Madd
In this unit, you will learn about longer stretching because of a Hamzah or Sukoon.
