Although it is highly suggested to use this book in conjunction with a teacher versed in the rules of Qur’anic recitation, a CD has been included to demonstrate the correct pronunciation of these rules. Together, the book and the CD arm the reader with the knowledge of proper Qur’anic recitation. The author, al-Hafidh Hafs al-Gazzi, is a teacher of tajweed in the UK. He presented a weekly radio programme in the UK called "The Tilâwat al-Qur'an Programme", and adapted the syllabus that he used for this radio series in the form of the present book and accompanying audio files.
