Islamic Studies Level 4 (book from Weekend Learning Series), written by Mansur Ahmad and Husain A. Nuri, is basically for the 8-11 years old children who have completed the 3rd level in this series. Students of fourth grade study this book in their fourth or fifth year in a formal Islamic class.
After completing other 3 levels in this Islamic Studies Curriculum, in this level 4 book students will now explore new topics with greater depth. The Level 3 book discussed a short summary of Makkah and Madinah periods of our beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SM) whereas in this level 4 book, the authors have covered several lessons on many key events from the life of Rasulullah (SM), such as condition of pre-Islamic Arabia, Year of the Elephants, Early life of Rasulullah (SM), the receipt of Prophethood, Pledges of Aqabah, Hijrat to Madinah, Overall life in Madinah as well as Liberation of Makkah. Moreover, the authors have also introduced a summarized life of Rightly Guided Khalifah along with a short biography of some of the Prophets.
The authors have thematically presented all lessons in distinct units as well as with greater detail. Learning about Allah as well as the life of our beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SM) is an important focus of this entire series. Unit that covers how Islam changed Arabia takes a closer look at the life of Rasulullah (SM) before and after receiving divine revelations. The authors have also introduced several topics on Fiqh of Salat with the ritual duties becoming obligatory to students in this age group. Further, the authors have covered the lives of the four Khalifas in greater detail in order to explain their contribution to Islam. Moreover, several moral building lessons are included as well.
